Foundations to Success, LLC is dedicated to providing mental health services within an infrastructure that promotes maximum growth — intellectually, spiritually, physically, socially, emotionally, and vocationally. Through our programs we are committed to supporting individuals across the community who have experienced trauma, crisis, relapse, setbacks, or an increase in acute symptoms.

Stephen L. Foster Jr.
Founder & Executive Director
Stephen L. Foster Jr. is a native of Hampton, Virginia who lived with emotional and behavioral challenges from a young age. Diagnosed with depression and ADHD at age 6, he found it hard to fit into social norms, and at 14 he attempted to take his own life. That moment became the turning point that has shaped his entire career.
Stephen went on to triple-major at Liberty University — earning bachelor's degrees in Psychology: Life Coaching, Psychology: Crisis Intervention, and Psychology: Addictions & Recovery. He later earned a Master's in Marriage and Family Counseling from Liberty University and is currently pursuing a PhD in Advanced Studies of Human Behavior at Capella University.
Ordained as a Reverend in Virginia, Stephen has authored three books — "A Call to Spiritual Circumcision," "Developing the Heart of a God Pleaser," and "Who Am I and What is My Purpose" — and released two albums under his Hip-Hop name U-Neek Shreef.
After more than a decade in the mental health field, Stephen founded Foundations to Success, LLC in Newport News. He also leads the non-profit Reach One Teach One (ROTO), which advocates for grade-aged students with 504s/IEPs.
