Foundations to Success, LLC is dedicated to provide mental health services within an infrastructure that promotes maximum growth intellectually, spiritually, physically, socially, emotionally and vocationally. With these programs, Foundations to Success, LLC is committed to supporting individuals within the community that have experienced some form of trauma, crisis, relapse, set back or increase of acute symptoms.
Stephen L. Foster Jr. is a native of Hampton, Virginia that had emotional and behavioral struggles while growing up. He was diagnosed with depression and ADHD at the age of 6 and found several challenges trying to fit in to social norms and other peer groups. When he was 14 years old, he attempted to commit suicide but God intervened and saved his life. This was the turning point in Stephen’s life; he went on to triple major at Liberty University earning three bachelors degrees: Psychology: Life Coaching, Psychology: Crisis Intervention and Psychology: Addictions & Recovery.
Then he earned a Master’s in Marriage and Family Counselling at Liberty University. He is currently pursuing his PhD in Advance Studies of Human Behavior at Capella University. Mr. Foster gave his life to God as a teen and later in his 20s was ordained a Reverend within the state of Virginia. He has an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and is compassionate about educating, empowering, motivating and coaching others whether young or seasoned. He has utilized other types of streams to communicate his love for both God and God’s people by writing and publishing three books: “A Call to Spiritual Circumcision”, “Developing the Heart of a God Pleaser” and “Who Am I and What is My Purpose”. He has also released two albums “The Purpose of Life” and “The Purpose of Life Vol. 2” under his Hip-Hop stage name: U-Neek Shreef which means, “a virtue that is one of its kind and like no other.”
Mr. Foster found a passion working in the Mental Health field over the past decade and has provided consultation, counselling, coaching and empowerment to several individuals young and old of all walks of life. He continues to do so as the Executive Director and owner of his business Foundations to Success, LLC in Newport News which has several programs that range from crisis intervention-acute to therapeutic mentoring. His non-profit Reach One Teach One (ROTO) provides advocacy for grade-aged students with 504s/IEPs (Special Education).

Ms. Kris is the Program Manager here at Foundations to Success, LLC. She holds a degree in Applied Science and has 13+ years in Medical Office Management. She has always had a passion to help others, and her goal is to assist in providing individuals with resources and tools to be self-sufficient and successful in their daily lives. Kris is hardworking, compassionate, and an advocate for individuals.
Kris strives to be the best manager and team player for everyone who crosses her path, along with support, guidance, and empowerment.

Téa takes Psychology and integrates it with a focus of the body, spirit and mind from a holistic therapeutic approach. Téa breaks down the fundamentals of the connection of body, spirit and mind and how balancing all three can allow one to achieve internal oneness with self. Turquoise Rawlings-Perrin is a highly experienced and qualified clinical director and therapist, with a strong background in counseling and mental health services. Her education from Hampton University, coupled with her extensive experience in the behavioral health field, has equipped her with the skills and knowledge necessary to effectively help individuals, young adults, and adolescents facing various mental health challenges. With a focus on person-centered therapy, Turquoise aims to create a supportive and non-judgmental environment where clients feel understood and empowered to make positive changes in their lives. She specializes in treating a range of issues including depression, anxiety disorders, ADHD, relationship issues, work stress, and life transitions.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Norfolk State University and is a certified Qualified Mental Health Provider. As the Program Director, he brings valuable expertise to his roles as a training specialist, certified First Aid/CPR instructor and a Therapeutic Options of Virginia (TOVA) instructor. Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Meet Elizabeth Shumate, most people call her Beth. She’s a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the Commonwealth of Virginia, trained and educated at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond.
What exactly does that mean? Well, it means she is equipped to diagnose and treat mental illness, thanks to her rigorous training and licensing. But her journey at VCU didn’t stop there. In addition to her social work expertise, she also pursued her passion for teaching art, though not simultaneously.
In simple terms, Beth’s all about people. She can’t stand to see them suffer and is dedicated to using her skills, talents, and sense of calling to guide others toward healing and a better life. Her approach? Always searching for the beauty in those she encounters.

Jennifer Dattilo Watts is an LMFT who has been practicing since 2013. She is a graduate of Capella University and specializes in working with trauma, anxiety, ADHD, and the LGBTQIA community. Jennifer received introductory training in neurofeedback from The EEG Institute in November 2012 and continues to provide neurofeedback services for her clients. She is a veteran of the United States Air Force and a mother of three teenagers.
I’m Kimberly, a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). I’m genuinely passionate about providing compassionate and holistic mental health care. With over 12 years of clinical experience, I diagnose and treat a variety of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, substance abuse, ADHD, and mood disorders across the lifespan.
I earned my Master’s degree in Nursing with a focus on Psychiatric Mental Health, and I’m proud to be board-certified. I believe in the importance of ongoing education, so I constantly seek out the latest evidence-based practices to better serve my patients.
What I love most about my work is building strong, trusting relationships with my patients. I’m here to empower you to take an active role in your mental health journey, and I approach each session with warmth and empathy. In addition to therapy, I offer thorough assessments, medication management, and collaborative care planning.

Marjorie Ricks, LPC-Resident in Counseling and Lead Therapist, is a highly experienced clinician with 12 years of practice in the therapeutic field, specializing in group and individual therapy for individuals with Substance Use Disorders (SUD) and co-occurring or mental health conditions. As a therapist in supervision, Marjorie demonstrates an ongoing commitment to professional growth, consistently seeking to refine and enhance clinical skills and knowledge to best support clients and ensure optimal therapeutic outcomes.
Marjorie has a 7 year-old daughter, who wants to become a pediatrician in the future. Marjorie has a fiancé who is very supportive of her dreams and aspirations. As a family they love to go on trips and play with their two dogs named Moji and Bella. Marjorie loves to bowl and spend time with family.
With a strong foundation in evidence-based therapeutic modalities, Marjorie effectively integrates approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET), and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) into their clinical practice.
